Shinagawa Aquarium was a 2 hour drive from the base. If you take the no toll route. We went through a bunch of tiny roads to get there and parking was a little difficult to find.
The aquarium is only open between 1000 and 1630. That's not a whole lot of time I thought. But it's a small aquarium and it's more then enough time actually.
We showed up at around noon and left at about three o'clock. A good amount of time was spent at the aquarium. It didn't feel like we were there that long though.
The Shinagawa Aquarium is two floors. The basement and the first floor. There are a lot of basement buildings in Japan. Not something you can do in Florida.

Pictures
There fish are some of the first fish you see when you enter the aquarium. Nathan and I were with two other couples. One of them had two children of their own. A one year old and a two year old. All the kids seemed to have different reactions with the aquarium. Mostly excited and curious.
This was obviously for little kids to climb in. I of course made Nathan go in to get a picture.
This was the very from the top of a walk through tank. It was the first real exciting thing to see in my own opinion. Maybe it was just because of the pretty blue.
I'm happy my phone can take decent pictures.
This is everyone going camera crazy while inside the tunnel. It was a short tunnel had at least one of everything.
JELLYFISH
This was pretty cool. Since Valentines Day was just a day or two before heading here. We all took turns taking pictures behind the fish. It was a little difficult with the jellyfish always moving but we still got a good one.
This was by far the coolest thing at the entire aquarium. These are called Doctor Fish. They eat away the dead skin on your hands. I'm sure anywhere really. I've seen videos of these fish online before with people's feet.
It felt really strange at first. You could feel the difference between the bigger fish and the smaller ones. My hands did feel a lot smoother afterwards. And they also cleaned the nail polish from the edges of my nails. I could have stood there for a long while. Ahaha.

It was a Good Time
I really enjoyed myself with all the people. This is the first time I met the Bumms and the first real outing with the Adams. It was the beginning of getting to know people. It was a small adventure worth documenting here.
I check MAYBE
It's really strange to check maybe. But it's not a YES as well as it's not a NO. Let's put it this way. If I am visiting Japan for a short time I would say it's a waste of money. It was only ¥1350 ($13.50) but I'd rather spend more money and go to a better aquarium. If you're going to be visiting for a longer time period and need to fill it then this is the place to go. Especially if you have kids.
It's also a cute aquarium to go to if you live in the area. It's a good walk through and done. BAM! We did something with our day.
The Shinagawa Aquarium also has a Dolphin show and Sea Lion show. We didn't see any of them because it was cold outside and it had just rained. But they did broadcast the show on TV's at the underwater viewing center. That was interesting.
The aquarium also has it's own restaurant. We chose not to eat there because most of the dishes had shrimp and a member of our group is allergic.
I do recommend this place but be warned that depending on your situation it could bore you. Not a place for everyone.
That's all for now!
